Clinical Skills Workshop: Te Ara Whakapiri 2026

The clinical skills series is for Health Care Professionals and for care workers caring for clients either in Aged Residential Care, a General Hospital or community setting who have primary palliative care needs.
This education session provides learning which maintains and enhances knowledge, skills and practice around Te Ara Whakapiri – care in the last days of life.
In this presentation we will cover:
- The background to the development of Te Ara Whakapiri (TAW)
- TAW framework, principles and components to care
- Recognising dying
- Baseline assessment & and planning for care after death
- Anticipatory prescribed orders
- Initiating TAW
