Thank you to New Zealand Lottery Grants Board who have committed $80,000 over two years…
New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) funds essential equipment our Hospice Op Shops
We’re incredibly grateful to New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) for a grant of $7,707.22 towards essential equipment for our new Donation and Distribution Centre, which is opening on the 21st of September 2026.
The grant has helped us purchase storage shelving, clothing racks and anti-fatigue mats – all important items that will help our team and volunteers work safely and efficiently as we sort and prepare donated goods for our five Hospice Shops.
The storage shelving and clothing racks will allow us to make the most of the space available, keeping donated items organised, accessible and ready to be distributed to our shops. The anti-fatigue mats will also provide added comfort and support for our volunteers and team members who spend time standing and working in the centre.
Our new Donation and Distribution Centre will play an important role in helping us manage the generous donations we receive from our community. By creating a dedicated space to sort, store and distribute donated goods, we can make the process more efficient and help ensure that pre-loved items find a new home in our Hospice Shops.
The proceeds from our shops help fund free specialist palliative care for people and their whānau across the Nelson Tasman region.
Thank you to NZCT for helping us get our new Donation and Distribution Centre ready to open. Your support will make a real difference to the way we manage the generous donations that help support our Hospice services.
Community grants like these are critical to the continued sustainability of Nelson Tasman Hospice. If you know of any Trusts or Foundations that may be interested in supporting our work, please don’t hesitate to reach out – we’d love to hear from you.
