There are many ways to support Nelson Tasman Hospice

Nelson Tasman Hospice currently receives just over half of the operational costs from government funding. As a result, a funding shortfall of $3M needs to be fundraised for each year. This comes from the generous support from the community, Nelson Tasman Hospice Shops‘ and fundraising initiatives.

Your donation is a powerful gift that will support the sustainability of hospice services in our region.

We would love to hear from you. If you have any general queries about how you can help, please contact Donna Ching-Tregidga the Head of Supporter Engagement & Income Development.

Business Sponsorship

Your business can make a big impact

Partnering with Nelson Tasman Hospice will provide much-needed support to ensure continued free specialist palliative care services throughout the region.  Your support is an active way to demonstrate your care and commitment to the Nelson Tasman community, your colleagues, and your customers. There are many ways we can partner and collaborate with businesses, and we’d love to discuss these options with you.

Here are some of the ways you can partner with Hospice:

Corporate sponsorship is for businesses looking for a significant partnership with Nelson Tasman Hospice. We offer bespoke opportunities to support your business and its commercial objectives.

We are always looking at innovative ways to partner with businesses. Should you be interested in learning more please get in touch with Donna Ching-Tregidga.

Consider donating products or services that will help the team at Nelson Tasman Hospice deliver their services throughout the Nelson Tasman Region.

We have branded, Perspex collection boxes that can sit on a counter, in a waiting room or at an event. These collection boxes are an easy way to support Nelson Tasman Hospice.

Often these boxes collect loose change, and this is proof that every bit counts. We were very proud to announce that a total of $15,625 was collected from loose change last year.

Get in touch today if you’d like one of these collection boxes dropped off at your place of business or event.

Days of Care

Support Hospice by gifting a Day of Care

Honour the memory of a loved one. Your gift of $1,000 (GST incl) towards a ‘Day of Care’ supports a person who needs specialist palliative care for a day.

Gifting a Day or Days of Care means you will be part of the team at Hospice, bringing the best possible care and support to people in our community when they need it most.

NB: Some of our donors sponsor more than a day of care – please contact us if you would like to donate towards more than a day of care as we can look at different options for you.

When you support a Day of Care, the team will create and display a poster acknowledging your chosen day. We also love to share your support on our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram)

You will be asked for your consent, and an appropriate picture before public acknowledgement is made.

Leaving a Legacy

Nelson Tasman Hospice is a charitable trust and relies on the generous support of the community through donations and bequests.

The work of Nelson Tasman Hospice touches many individuals and whānau throughout the Nelson Tasman region.

Choosing to remember Nelson Tasman Hospice with a gift in your will is the perfect way to help the region in the future. Truly, you will be leaving a lasting legacy.

We are sincerely grateful to those caring people who have made or are considering making, a bequest to hospice in their will.

A bequest is a gift from your estate made through your will. It can be a specified gift of property or savings or a percentage of your entire estate.  More information is included in the links below.

Please get in touch should you like to discuss leaving a legacy with Nelson Tasman Hospice.

Since a will is a legal document, it’s important to seek the right advice and wording. A solicitor, the Public Trust (link) or Perpetual Guardian Trust (link) can help you prepare your will. If you have not yet made a will, this is usually a simple, inexpensive process and the benefits are enormous – both for the recipient charity and for your peace of mind knowing that your wishes have been made clear.

There are several types of bequests you can choose from:

  • Residuary – a gift of the remainder of your estate after provisions for family and other beneficiaries have been settled
  • Percentage – a percentage of the value of your estate
  • Pecuniary – a specific sum of money
  • Specified Bequest – a particular item such as a vehicle or a house
