Palliative Care for Caregivers starts Friday 6 March 2026 over 4 weeks

This workshop has been designed for Health Care Assistants & Support and Support Workers working in Aged Residential Care or the Community to improve their knowledge and understanding of palliative care. * Please note, this programme is not suitable for members of the public looking after their family/whanau.
The education is endorsed by Hospice New Zealand, and a certificate will be awarded on completion of the programme.
- This workshop is 2 hours per session over 4 weeks and attendees must attend all 4 sessions to gain the Hospice NZ Palliative Care Certificate.
Topics covered include:
- Principles of palliative care
- Managing physical symptoms
- Care in the last days of life
- Communication
- Understanding loss and grief
- Spirituality and self-care
Target audience: Heath care assistants, Support workers and Caregivers working in rest homes & community homes
Max attendees 20: Early registration is advised.
Cost: No charge
