As the festive season approaches, Nelson Tasman Hospice invites the community to pause, remember and…
Help families who need hospice care this Christmas

From today, all Farmers stores across Aotearoa will be raising funds for their local hospice service.
This marks the twelfth year of Farmers’ national partnership with hospices, with customers donating $9 million over that time to help keep hospice care free of charge.
Until Christmas Eve, customers can support their local hospice by donating to the Tree of Remembrance in-store or by purchasing the limited-edition hospice bauble.
Each bauble costs $15.99, and thanks to Farmers’ generosity, the full amount stays in the community and is donated to the local hospice. Farmers also passes on 100% of all Tree of Remembrance donations. Last year Nelson Tasman Hospice received $30,702.94 from the campaign.
This year’s bauble features sprigs of holly, a well -known symbol of Christmas representing protection, good fortune, eternal life, and resilience.

Hospice NZ Patron Jo Seagar says,
“Hospice helps people receive compassionate, end of life care so they can focus on living life well to the end. Thank you for supporting Hospice at Farmers this Christmas.”
Government funding covers less than half of hospice running costs. In 2023–2024, hospice services cost $226 million to run, but only $114 million came from government funding. The remaining $112 million was raised by hospices through donations and community support.
Supporting Hospice at Farmers this Christmas helps ensure hospice care remains free for everyone who needs it.
There are limited numbers of the baubles available, and they sell out each year, so please visit your nearest Farmers store in Nelson or Richmond to buy one today.
