Mowsworth Rampage 2025

On Saturday 18th of October 202550 riders upon ride on lawn mowers took on the 12-hour 86km journey through the Molesworth – a heartfelt mission to raise funds and awareness for Nelson Tasman Hospice and the Cancer Society Nelson Tasman.

Thanks to all the participants incredible dedication and support, over $62,000 has been raised and the total is still climbing.

  • A massive thank you to Stuart Newport for another incredible year! Your support, along with the help of your team at Richmond Glass and your amazing family, never goes unnoticed. We’re so grateful for everything you do.
  • MS Ford for lending us the Ford Ranger Stormtrak Hybrid. We travelled the Molesworth terrain with ease.
  • Pāmu and the Department of Conservation for welcoming the event that runs through the beautiful Molesworth Station.
  • Richmond Glass as the Mowsworth Rampage naming rights sponsor.
  • Absolute Energy & Deelish Bakehouse – For ensuring we had the vital coffee to warm us all up bright and early at the starting line!
  • Jackie from Hato Hone St John Nelson and Tasman Bays.
  • Rapid Relief Team NZ for the yummy treats, fruit & water for morning & afternoon tea.
  • A huge shoutout to Simon from Hirschmann’s Mower & Machinery Repairs Ltd— our mower miracle worker! Whether it was a breakdown or a last-minute fix, Simon worked his magic time and time again.
  • The Hanmer Springs Rural Fire Brigade, for escorting the mowers through the Hanmer town centre for their victory lap upon completion of this incredible journey.
  • Hirepool Ltd for the all-important portaloo’s.
  • Janelle & Hanmer Springs Rugby Club for hosting the prize-giving and for all your fundraising work. Your support helped make the event truly special.
  • To Jim from Rusty Carrot Catering for the delicious nibbles at the end of a long day. It was just what everyone needed!
  • To all of the prize and auction item sponsors – thank you for your support and community spirit!

It was a long, dusty, and demanding journey but the spirit of teamwork and determination carried everyone through to the finish line. Throughout the ride, we heard powerful stories of loved ones and the deeply personal reasons behind each participant’s journey. Just like the path faced by those receiving care from our services, it’s the support from those around you that makes all the difference. This ride was a beautiful reminder to live every moment fully, and to lean on the strength of community when the road gets tough.

Donations are still open! If you would like to support, visit – https://www.mowsworthrampage.co.nz/donate
