The Compassionate Community Behind Nelson Tasman Hospice: Wedding Pop Up Shop

As we gear up for the Nelson Tasman Hospice’s Wedding Pop-Up Shop, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible individuals and businesses who have generously supported us in bringing this event to life. Without your compassion, this would not have been possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Meet Our Amazing Supporters:

Anonymous Donors

A big shoutout to the anonymous donors who generously provided most of the wedding dresses and other important items. Your kindness means a lot to us and will greatly help palliative care patients in our community.

Vanessa Griffin (previously Profile – Event Wear Specialists and now Vanessa Griffin Real Estate Nelson with Ray White Richmond)

Vanessa, with Profile closing after 27 years, you found the perfect opportunity to support our community, and we’re so grateful. Your amazing donation of 50 wedding dresses is truly remarkable and will make dreams come true for many brides-to-be. The funds raised this weekend will go to those who need it in our community.

Rob Stevenson

The old Variety Store in Whakatu Carpark is an ideal location for our pop-up shop. It’s conveniently located, well-lit, and spacious, making it a fantastic place to shop. A heartfelt thank you to Rob for generously providing this location. Your support is the cornerstone of our event’s success.

Luke Marshall Images

Luke, your photography skills beautifully capture life’s special moments. Thank you for capturing our event advertising photograph, working with our model Emma Silke-French, we can see how talented you are quickly putting people at ease.

Dress models

A warm shoutout to Emma Silke-French, Kat Campbell, Elisha Brooks, Sarah Lindup, and Hazel Adcock for modeling our wedding dresses. You all looked stunning and helped us showcase the dresses perfectly.

Got It Covered Events Hire

We greatly appreciate your dedication to making our event comfortable and stylish. Daine and Tiffaney have provided a cozy lounge area for the brides’ support crews in the fitting area, privacy screens for the changing rooms, a stunning archway to frame our photos, and the illuminated “LOVE” letters to set the scene. Clean white tablecloths tied everything together, enhancing the store’s aesthetic.

Continental Events Hire

Your unwavering support in supplying essential event equipment has been invaluable. From trestle tables to conference panels for the changing rooms, your team went above and beyond to assist Nelson Tasman Hospice and the Wedding Pop-Up event.

Richmond Glass

The mirrors provided by Richmond Glass are vital for the success of the event. Without mirrors, our brides would have to rely on compliments from their supporters, and we would probably still have over 100 wedding dresses to sell after the fact.

Kay from Mint Flowers

A special thank you to Kay for adding the final touch to our promotional photoshoot with a bride’s bouquet. The beautiful floral arrangements created by Kay will add a touch of nature’s beauty to our pop-up shop. Your talent and creativity will be admired by all who attend.

Marg Palmer, Celebrant

Marg, your help in spreading the word about this spontaneous event has been incredibly valuable. We’re grateful for your continuous support of Hospice, and we’re glad to highlight your work once again.

Master Valet Dry Cleaners

A big thank you to Master Valet Dry Cleaners for their special wedding dress service, providing peace of mind to our brides-to-be. They’ve generously offered a 50% discount to our brides, which is greatly appreciated.

Volunteers and Retail Team

It takes a compassionate community to make a Hospice happen, and we’re fortunate to have people willing to give their time to support our service. A special shoutout to our Nelson team members, Dianne and Kaz, for putting the shop together. Our retail shops contribute about 25% of the funds needed each year to support our service. We thank you for your incredible dedication and hard mahi.

Farmers

At the last minute we needed more clothing rails, and our Trees of Remembrance partner Farmers came to the rescue and provided us with more rails.  Thank you!

Join us at the Wedding Pop-Up:

We invite everyone to join us at the Whakatu Carpark in Nelson from September 22nd to 25th, between 12 PM and 7 PM. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need and celebrate the joy and love that weddings represent.

Your support means the world to us, and we can’t wait to see you at the pop-up shop. Let’s make this event a resounding success and a day to remember!
