NBS Dancing for a Cause 2023

Dancing for a Cause Trust is a charitable trust board with its trustees volunteering their time and working tirelessly with many other individuals and organisations in the Nelson Tasman region. This spectacular show, to be held on the 27th May, will raise vital funds for Nelson Tasman Hospice, whilst giving the Nelson Tasman community the opportunity of getting involved in this fun and glamourous competition!

This will be the third Dancing For A Cause event and will again be held in Nelson’s Trafalgar Centre, with previous years having collectively raised an amazing $395,000! A truly phenomenal sum which has directly supported the care of approximately 240 patients and their whānau each month. In addition, we know that on average for each patient we work with our services have a direct impact.

The 2023 event sees ten local personalities partnered each with a trained ballroom dancer. The contestants will perform a ballroom or latin dance in front of a panel of judges and live audience in an attempt to be declared the NBS Nelson Dancing for a Cause winner!

As well as shaping up their dance moves, these special individuals have been uniting their communities to help make the biggest impact for local specialist palliative patients; through fundraisers, raffles and sharing the powerful stories and facts of why this service is so important. Leading this compassionate community, the NBS Dancing For A Cause 2023 contestants have already raised $100,000 for Nelson Tasman Hospice with months still to go to beat previous year’s efforts.

We are so grateful to them and every person supporting this vibrant and vital event.
