Clinical Nurse Lead – Community Team & ARC Palliative Care (0.9 FTE)

For over 30 years Nelson Tasman Hospice has been a part of our community, providing compassionate palliative care to patients and whanau. Our vision is “To Care Always”, and our talented and dedicated team ensure we deliver on this vision. We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Leader equally as driven to lead our Community team at our state-of-the-art facility in Stoke, Nelson. 

In this varied role, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate proven clinical and leadership skills, working primarily with our experienced community and ARC team.  Providing ongoing support to the team, you’ll be involved day to day coordination of activities and assisting with complex patient needs, while also ensuring their ongoing development. As part of the Clinical Governance committee, you’ll also be involved with developing and reviewing policy and guidelines ensuring Nelson Tasman Hospice operates at the highest standards while complying with all national guidelines. 

Some things are an absolute must – along with an annual practicing certificate you will need 3 – 5 years’ experience in an advanced nursing practice role, with demonstrated collaborative team building skills.  Ideally you will have a post graduate diploma in palliative care and PDRP Expert level, however, a commitment to working towards this will suffice.  You will be able to inspire and motivate a team while working alongside them with your flexible and supportive approach.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR EXTRAORDINARY NOT ORDINARY

For over 30 years Nelson Tasman Hospice has been a regional leader in providing specialist palliative care for people with life limiting illnesses, enabling them to live “every moment”. We have a dedicated team working together to achieve this, and to continue providing this illustrious service, we are looking for a dynamic and influential person to lead our Supporter Engagement and Income Development team.

In our unique and special environment, you will be motivated to develop a future focused, strategic approach to fundraising initiatives in order to best support the organisation’s success and sustainability. You will contribute to and inform sound partnership analysis, strategic options and plans.

This opportunity carries a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, and with your vision and creativity you will be involved in developing and managing an ambitious range of Nelson Tasman Hospice’s income generation strategies (outside of DHB funding), transformation and operational fundraising, including Retail.

As Nelson Tasman Hospice’s Head of Supporter Engagement and Income Development you will lead your team to:

  • Build and maintain strong and productive engagement with stakeholders, developing and managing the way that we acknowledge, care for and give value to our generous donor’s support in the Nelson Tasman community.
  • Further develop the communications function; internally and externally, to support successful delivery of the Hospice mission, vision and strategic investment goals.
  • Apply quality standards to the use of the Hospice’s marketing material in order to generate consistency in brand look, feel and language.

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will provide confidence and inspiration and be a values driven leader, role model and coach.
