VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME MANAGER

a unique environment – a privileged role

Hospice volunteers are truly priceless – sitting at the heart of all that we do life without them is quite simply unimaginable.  This role offers opportunity to champion all things volunteer related both within and outside the organisation.

Ensuring links to hospice strategy and provision of fit for purpose volunteer services are clear priorities.  Successfully recruiting and retaining hundreds of volunteers in diverse roles adds an additional challenge to the mix.  The unpaid workforce is a powerful tool in a sector that is increasingly tight on resources and required to do more.  So being innovative, open minded and focused on continuous improvement in all that we do is greatly appreciated here.

Given its seniority and scope prior leadership experience in a business or charity setting is a must.  Outstanding people skills will see you build multiple relationships both inside and outside of hospice.  Finally, but possibly most importantly, your passion for volunteerism and genuine community spirit will give you the energy to continue the powerful legacy that you’re stepping in to.  This is a rare opportunity to join a passionate team who deliver a vital service in our community.

This role has a commitment of 32-40 hours per week. When you join the hospice team you sign up to making the most of every day.  In this environment it’s a joy to know that what you did today really mattered.
