Volunteers play an essential role at Nelson Tasman Hospice and work as part of the team to deliver the highest quality of care and support to patients and their families/whānau.
People volunteer for a variety of reasons. Some have had a personal connection and want to give something back; others want to be involved in a cause that interests them; others want to meet people and feel more involved in our community. Our volunteer team reflects the diversity of our community and our role is to try and support each and every person use their specific talents and enjoy their volunteer experience with us.
We recognise that people have different lifestyles and some may wish to volunteer but cannot commit to being available all the time. We cater for this on three levels – one-off projects, short-term opportunities, and flexible “Bounce Back” opportunities for those living locally but are away for extended periods. We try to be as flexible as possible.
We genuinely appreciate the gift of time and talent from ALL of our volunteers and are committed to offering a volunteer experience that is enjoyable, interesting and rewarding.
We are privileged to have such a willing and dedicated team, and are always keen to hear from people who might want to get involved.
