DESCRIPTION:What: Clothes Swap with bubbles and nibbles\nWhere: Nelson College for Girls\nWhen: Sunday 6th November from 2pm\nCost: $30\nWhat you need to do: All you need to do is chose up to 10 items from your wardrobe that are in good condition but aren’t getting the love they deserve. We will organise everything on the day\, hanging up the clothes etc. just turn up\, enjoy the bubbles and nibbles and go shopping! What more could a gal want on a Sunday afternoon…So gather your friends/ colleagues/ family and RSVP by the 31st October to Becs (rebecca@scotts.nz) once you do this we will send you account details and details for the day.\n\n\nOf course ALL proceeds from the day go directly to the Nelson Tasman Hospice\, so you can feel good about shopping\, not that we need an excuse!

DESCRIPTION:The aim of the Caregiver’s Toolbox is to provide support and practical information to family/whānau carers when their loved one has a life limiting illness. \nAims: \n\nTo provide a safe and welcoming environment for family/whānau caregivers to gather and share experiences.\nTo provide practical information that assists the family/whānau in caring for their loved one in the last weeks/months of life.\nTo empower family/whānau carers with confidence and knowledge around knowing what to expect when their loved one has a life limiting illness.\n\nThe course is spread over 4 Sessions over 4 weeks. \nWeek 1 – 23rd November 2022: \n\nWhat is palliative care?\nGetting the help you need\nBuilding a support network\nBuilding caregiver resilience\n\nWeek 2 – 30th November 2022: \n\nSymptom control/managing medications\nNutrition – hints and ideas\n\nWeek 3 – 7th December 2022: \n\nHow to support loved ones with decreased mobility\, moving safely and using mobility aids\nHome care\nCaregiver’s fatigue\n\nWeek 4 – 14th December 2022: \n\nUnderstanding the dying process\nHow to manage the unexpected – ‘what if’ plans\nMaking the most of time that is left\n\nThese sessions are free to attend and informal\, where you can come and share a cup of tea/coffee and have a chat. There will be a small group of up to 10 people. You are welcome to attend all 4 sessions or a session(s) of your liking.
