DESCRIPTION:This syringe Driver Workshop is for Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses Registered Nurses employed by Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora and delivered onsite at Nelson Hospital. \nPlease note: This workshop is NOT suitable for Registered Nurses & Enrolled Nurses working in Aged Residential Care (ARC) as it is a different learning platform and will not be the right competency you require for your workplace. \nThis syringe driver workshop provides the knowledge and practical skills required to manage a syringe driver in the practice setting and a knowledge of medicines for end of life symptom management. DESCRIPTION:As healthcare workers\, we play a vital role in supporting people with palliative care needs. This means being prepared to provide ongoing assessment\, recognising changes as illness progresses\, and responding with compassion and skill. \nLearning about palliative care can make a real difference\, not only for the people in our care\, but also for their family and whānau\, and for us as healthcare professionals. It improves assessment\, communication\, and overall outcomes.
