DESCRIPTION:What is the Better Endings Project \nThe Better Endings Project is about educating the community on the basics of caring for people who are dying. This workshop is for the general public and is not designed for health professionals. \nWho is the course for? \nFor the general public who find themselves supporting and caring for people approaching end of life or those anticipating this situation. \nWhat does Nelson Tasman Hospice offer? \nThe facilitators will give practical tips on how you can provide comfort to someone who is dying\, and what you can do to plan for your own and your family’s future. It is an interactive course for up to 12 participants. \nParticipants will learn: \n\nWhat to expect when someone is dying\nHow compassionate communities can improve care of dying\nWhy end of life planning is important and what resources are available\nSimple measures to provide comfort at end of life\nAbout the sanctity of the last hours/days of life and how to cope and support others after death\n\nDetails: \n\nWho can attend?
