SUMMARY:Fundamentals of Palliative Care Online Modules
DESCRIPTION:As healthcare workers\, we play a vital role in supporting people with palliative care needs. This means being prepared to provide ongoing assessment\, recognising changes as illness progresses\, and responding with compassion and skill. \nLearning about palliative care can make a real difference\, not only for the people in our care\, but also for their family and whānau\, and for us as healthcare professionals. It improves assessment\, communication\, and overall outcomes. This is a free Hospice New Zealand Fundamentals of Palliative Care programme and designed to help you build a strong understanding of the essence and principles of palliative care\, so you feel prepared and confident when caring for people in Aotearoa New Zealand at the end of life. \nTo enrol: https://koawatealearn.co.nz/  * Please note\, this programme is NOT new\, it has moved to Ko Awatea from Knowledge Hub.  \n\nIf you do not have a Ko Awatea LEARN account\, you will need to Request an Account.  See attached flyer for more details.\nOnce signed into Ko Awatea LEARN search for the Fundamentals of Palliative Care Programme to start the modules\n\nOnline Modules:  \nThere are 5 online modules that each take about 1 hour. \n\nEssence of Palliative Care\nThe Palliative Care Approach\nPain\, Other Symptoms and Frequently Used Medications\nChronic Illness and Dementia\nCare and Support at End of Life\n\nWorkshop: To complete the programme\, you will need to attend a one-day free workshop. * You will need to have completed all 5 modules first.
