SUMMARY:A Forum for the General Public: Dying to Know about Dying Matters?
DESCRIPTION:Talking about it more\, worrying about it less. A workshop the general public can attend. \nThis forum is for the general public to attend and is not designed for Health Professionals. \nMany people find it difficult to talk about dying\, yet dying is an important stage of life and is inevitable. \nWe plan for the birth of a child\, yet when it comes to the end of life\, we don’t often want to think about it\, or talk about it. \nHaving a plan outlines our care preferences for the future. Having an Advance Care Plan (ACP) that aligns with our beliefs and values\, is a gift that we can give to our family / whānau. \nCome along to our workshop and find out more about dying matters\, how an ACP can benefit you and your family/whānau and what to expect at the end of life. \nWe will explore: \n– Why is it hard to talk about death and dying?\n– What to expect when someone is dying\n– Supports available\n– Advance care planning processes \nThis is a free workshop\, however space is limited so registration is essential.\nRegister your space here: Eventbrite registration
